Singing Valentines – 2024

Sentimental Sounds did Valentine sing-outs at two schools, two private homes, two floors of a nursing home, two offices and finished at a retirement home.

 

Christmas Concert – 2023

 

The chorus enjoyed singing Christmas songs once again in the acoustically wonderful sanctuary of the Sharon-Hope United Church. Kudos to the newer members for their contributions to an extremely well-received performance.

“Mistletones” Quartet Sing-outs 2023

 

The “Mistletones” quartet entertained the Southlake Regional Health Centre’s Geriatric Patients group and the COPD Patients group at their Christmas luncheons. 

Schomberg Main Street Christmas 2023

 

Once again, A Cappella York entertained passersby at A Main Street Christmas in Schomberg.

Hudson’s Bay Sing-out 2023

 

The chorus entertained shoppers and the Bay staff in the Cosmetics section of Hudson’s Bay at the Newmarket Upper Canada Mall today. We combined Christmas songs and songs from our regular repertoire. A great early start to the holiday season!

Picnic – 2023

 

The members of A Cappella York had a picnic at Harmony Ranch, the barbershop trailer park that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. There were games, singing, delicious food and lots of conversations. A great time was had by all!

St. Patrick’s Day – 2023

 

Nine chorus members entertained at a St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser at the Aurora Theatre in support of the York Region Food Network. We finished with “My Wild Irish Rose,” and the audience response was wonderful. We were all delighted to have been invited to perform and are grateful to our Director Barb Jones (on the far left) for arranging it.

Joe sent Sandra some love — Shenanigans style — at Nature’s Emporium in Newmarket!

Shenanigans impressed the musical instruments at The Arts Music Store in Newmarket!

That sneaky Evening Tide quartet surprised Joyce by getting in to sing for her at Shopper’s Drug Mart at the Upper Canada Mall before opening time!

What could be more suprising than opening your door to a barbershop quartet featuring your husband Rob on lead that has dropped by to sing love songs to you? Barb was clearly delighted! (Rob is the tall guy on Barb’s left.)

Christmas in Schomberg 2019

 

The Schomberg Main Street Festival committee was pleased with the chorus’s participation in 2018 and invited us back in 2019.  We were delighted to do it!

The Shenanigans quartet sang to Santa, who was relaxing after a long day of chatting with the kiddies.

Shenanigans definitely captured the spirit of the Victorian theme for the festival.

Mother’s Day Show 2019

 

The chorus thoroughly enjoyed performing for its Mother’s Day audience in the sanctuary of Sharon-Hope United Church.
